Curren Sleeps Over

Tonight was a very special night for Jackson.  Curren slept over for the first time.  It was the first sleepover for both boys, without their parents sleeping over too that is...

They watched Frozen and sang all the songs.

Ate hamburgers.

Took a bath and got clean...

And snuggled.

Right now while I'm writing this you two are giggling away, pretending to sleep every time I poke my head in the door.  I love your special friendship.  Even though you don't see each other every day anymore... You don't even live in the same city or go to school together anymore... You share a friendship that can only be shared by boys who were raised together and truly love each other like family.  I love you both and hope we have hundreds more sleepovers!

Jackson's Fridays with Maymay and Grumpa

Each Friday this year Maymay and Grumpa pick Jax up from school.  Sometimes they just go to one of our houses to play and sometimes they go out to explore and play in the city.  Yesterday they went to the Japanese Tea Garden.

A Few Firsts for Lily

This week Lily turned 8 months old...

This is a really fun age to watch because her little personality is really beginning to show.

She discovered the sand on the beach for the first time.  This wasn't the first time she had ever been on the beach, but the first time she really connected with it.

She also ate fruit for breakfast for the first time.  Blueberries and raspberries cut up into little pieces.  She loved being able to do it herself, something that seems important to her in many different circumstances.

She isn't crawling yet, but loves to sit by herself on the floor and  falls over all the time.  Last night while Grampa and Daddy and I watched, she fell part way back and caught herself with her hands.  Then she sat there and waved her legs in the air for us.

trip to Papa's house January 2014

When Papa was visiting during Christmas we decided it was time for Jax to see some snow and time for all of us to visit our family in Salt Lake City and Park City.  Maymay and Grumpa both came with us and we all traveled together.

The second we got to Papa's house Jax put on his snow boots and hat and gloves and lied down in the snow to make a snow angel.  He helped to shovel snow too.

We had a giant slumber party in Papa's basement.

Every night Papa made us dinner.  We did poppers and told our jokes and wore our crowns.

One day Patsy took us to a place called Red Butte Gardens.  Jax was in snow heaven.

We also went to a Children's museum where Jackson played and drove a helicopter.

The last day we were there we went to see Gia and Michael and PJ, Lena, and Devan in Park City.  They took us sledding.  Lena showed us how and sledded with Jackson.  Then I gave it a try.  I think I liked it the best.

Here is Jax sledding by himself.

Lena and Devan were so wonderful with Jax and Lily.  We loved spending some time with them.

That night we had everyone who could make it over to Papa's house for a pizza party.  This is Maymay and Uncle Mike and Patsy and Papa (Paula).  They don't get to see each other all together very often, so it was a special night.

Even the flight home was fun until the very end when everybody's ears hurt.
